1. Can my old and damaged concrete be polished?  Almost any structurally sound concrete floor, whether new or old, can be polished. But there are some exceptions. Existing floors typically require some surface preparation prior to polishing to remove dirt, grease, coatings, or blemishes. However, floors that are wavy, need extensive patching, or are extremely porous may not be good candidates for polishing. An experienced contractor can usually determine a floor's suitability.

2. How long does the polished concrete retain its shine and do I need to wax it?  Your polished concrete is extremely durable and with care and cleaning should retain a lasting shine. If over time your concrete floor loses some of its natural shine you can have it re-polished with a light abrasive material from a professional floor installation company. For best results, call Artistic Concrete Transformations and ensure the jobs done right

3. What is the durability of epoxy?  Know for their durability, epoxy floors have a longer lifespan than many other floor types. Concrete is the only material that is more durable but it needs to be properly sealed and maintained. Epoxy floor coating makes concrete exceptionally durable and it is highly resistant to just about everything – oil, gasoline, bleach, transmission fluid, cleansers and more. This is one the main reasons they’re frequently in the industrial world.

4. How expensive is polishing and epoxy coatings?  Since all jobs are unique and there are many type of epoxy products we cannot give pricing without first consulting with our clients and understanding their needs and wants.  Generally it is priced competitively to other floor coverings.

5. Can outdoor concrete surfaces be coated or polished?  We would not normally recommend a Mechanically Polished Concrete, for outdoor situations because it can be extremely slippery when wet. Ask us about alternative solutions that may be a more attractive and unique alternative for your outside concrete needs.

6. Are your employees OSHA trained?  The first thing to look for is a company that has a good reputation and a proven service record. Next make sure they are compliant with OSHA standards, follow safe working procedures and put your safety and the safety of your location first. After an accident is the wrong time to find out your contractor was not OSHA compliant.

11. I called around and got prices on my concrete job. Why is there such a big difference in price?  There could be a lot of reasons. Some companies are famous for quoting incredibly low prices on the telephone, but when the customer goes in for service they find out that other parts are required and that tax and labor was not included. Some companies quote low prices because they use inferior products and or inexperienced labor. Don't be fooled by gimmicks and giveaways. The old adage applies: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
